The world of IT, security and observability is rapidly changing, and the volume of data is growing at explosive rates. Simultaneously, the pressure from regulatory requirements, customer expectations and the need for financial efficiency is growing. In response to these challenges, Cribl introduces two new tools, which will help organizations transform risk into resilience and make financially sound decisions:

Cribl Guard — complete control and reliable protection of confidential data in real time.

FinOps Center — financial analytics for telemetry data, transparency and cost optimization.

These solutions enable teams to protect data at the point of processing, gain immediate visibility into risks, control telemetry costs, and make decisions based on facts and actual metrics.

UPDATES

Cribl Guard turns risk into resilience

A single accidental publication of a confidential table with personal information can cost a company years of customer trust, hefty fines, and make it a target for attacks, making data protection one of the main priorities. Moreover, internal system configurations, application secrets, and other critically important business data must remain out of reach for intruders.

Cribl Guard integrates directly into Cribl Stream, the telemetry pipeline, and scans each event in real-time. Its advanced AI capabilities detect:

  • social security numbers;
  • bank card details;
  • passport data;
  • other sensitive patterns.

The built-in “human-in-the-loop” control allows the security team to make final decisions: confirm, reject, or quickly modify data processing, as well as mask, block, or reroute data before it exits the pipeline.

Key Advantages:

  • Fewer leaks and false positives.
  • Faster incident response.
  • Full compliance without overloading with manual work.

Three simple steps to control:

  1. Ready protection — identify, mask, encrypt, or delete data before it reaches third-party tools.
  2. Smart routing — reroute events with sensitive data to secure quarantine or authorized analysis platforms.
  3. Continuous assurance — monitor streams in real-time to ensure no sensitive information is missed.

Additional features:

  • Real-time data detection and processing using flexible rules.
  • Configuration via ready-made templates, regular expressions, and context tags.
  • Seamless integration with any Cribl Stream pipeline.
  • Complete monitoring and statistics collection for policy optimization.
  • AI analytics for adapting to changes in data and reducing false positives.

Cribl Guard combines artificial intelligence with human oversight, simplifies compliance, reduces storage costs, and enhances security levels, regardless of whether your infrastructure is on-premise, hybrid, or fully cloud-based.

COST CONTROL

FinOps Center is the financial mind for your data

Data volumes are growing every year, while budgets often remain unchanged. This forces IT, security, and observability teams to decide which data to keep and which to discard, balancing visibility, compliance, and financial constraints.

FinOps Centre is a new feature from Cribl that adds financial analytics to your telemetry and provides complete visibility into the entire data lifecycle: from network and security log transformation to metrics and traces collected, searched, and stored in Cribl. Cribl bridges the gap between observability, security, and financial accountability, enabling smarter and more practical decisions.

What this gives teams:

  • A shared understanding of the volume, value and cost of data.
  • The ability to detect anomalies in traffic (e.g., a sharp increase in data downloads in a specific group of workers).
  • Analysis of the impact of configuration changes on traffic increases/decreases.

Usage analytics

In the Per Product Consumption section, you can see a detailed picture of the usage of all Cribl products. Here you can quickly identify which worker groups are processing the largest amounts of data, track the appearance of new sets in Cribl Lake, and see how your teams’ usage of Cribl Search is changing.

Flexible time intervals make it easy to drill down from the big picture to the details. You can view 30-day trends on a chart or daily or weekly statistics. This allows you to pinpoint when changes in operations caused performance issues, when an error caused a spike in data processing volumes, or when the storage stabilised after a long migration to the cloud.

Cost transparency
Cribl Credits allows you to pay only for what you actually use. FinOps Centre is a logical extension of this approach, making the financial side of data work as clear as possible.

In many pricing models, it can sometimes seem very difficult to understand the costs. Cribl is changing this approach. FinOps Centre makes costs obvious and cost breakdowns transparent. You can easily track changes in monthly costs or analyse them in more detail on a weekly or even daily basis for reporting and internal analysis.

We’ve also added enhanced visibility into the plan renewal process so that sales teams, account owners, and administrators always understand how Cribl credits are being used throughout the term. If refunds or credit transfers occur, these events will be clearly reflected in the Usage Overview. This means that every team will have the tools to quickly and confidently answer any questions about their spending.

FinOps Centre brings all insights together in one place, makes reports accessible, helps identify patterns and anomalies, and treats telemetry data as a strategic asset rather than just an expense.
